Do we reaaly need the monarchy or are they a bunch of freeloading parasites.?

Why do we need the monarchy in this day and age. They don't contribute anything to the nation as far as I can see but their luxurious lifestyle costs a fortune. The country wouldn't fall apart without them. It is time for them to go. They don't give a monkey's about the likes of you or me, just about maintaining their privilages. It is WRONG that they who do so little have so much.
